Obituary for Elizabeth Ann Furr Kimbriel
Elizabeth Ann (Betsy) Furr Kimbriel of Jackson passed away March 16, 2017 at Baptist Medical Center. Born December 16, 1948 in Tupelo, MS, she was the daughter of Estelle Philips and Archie M. Furr. Betsy graduated from Tupelo High School, received a B.A. from Millsaps College, a M.Ed. from Mississippi College and taught in the Jackson Public Schools for 28 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she served on several committees and participated in Women in the Church Circles and Bible Studies. Betsy also was a member of Kappa Delta Alumni Association and Les Belle Mains Bridge and Luncheon Club. Betsy was preceded in death by her parents, Estelle and Archie Furr. She is survived by her husband, Dale Michael (Mike) Kimbriel of Jackson; daughter Elizabeth Kyle Kimbriel Still and her husband, Matt of Oxford; brother, Dr. Philip M. Furr and his wife, Carol of Memphis, TN. She also leaves a step-son, John Michael Kimbriel and his wife, Lisa of Brandon; grandsons Banks and Andrew Still of Oxford, and John Benton and Seth Kimbriel of Brandon; a niece and two nephews. A visitation will be held March 20, 2017 at First Presbyterian Church at 9:30 a.m. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements are being handled by Sebrell Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to First Presbyterian Church, 1390 North State Street, Jackson, MS 39202 or to the Mississippi Animal Rescue League, 5221 Greenway Drive Extended, Jackson, MS 39204.
