Dorothy Hannaford Brunson, 84, died Friday, April 21, 2017 at Compere's Nursing Home. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, April 24, 2017 at Sebrell Funeral Home in Ridgeland. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Pittsboro Cemetery in Pittsboro, MS.
Mrs. Brunson was born on December 7, 1932, the daughter of the late Henry Wesley and Sallie Dot Hannaford. A long time resident of Jackson, she retired from Willow Creek Apartments where she served as manager. All who knew Dorothy (Dot) always used the word "sweet." She was indeed a loving, kind, and sweet spirit.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her granddaughter Molly Brunson McAlpin, and her siblings Margaret Hannaford, Ruby Nell Barnett, Kathleen Patterson, Charles Hannaford, Thomas Hannaford, Ligon Hannaford, and Robert Hannaford.
Survivors include son David Tillman Brunson and his wife Vivian of Clinton; son, John Jefferson Brunson and his wife Becky of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, and 4 grandchildren, Anna Sabino, Chad Brunson, Gina Leach, and Sara Carmean, and 9 great grandchildren.
