Obituary for Anne Mayfield Douglas
Anne Mayfield Douglas, 79, of Jackson, MS, passed away after a difficult three year battle with cancer. Mrs. Douglas had a career as a secretary and later as a school teacher and was noted for her hard work and dependability. As a teacher, Mrs. Douglas gave greatly of her time and would often tailor lesson plans individually for students when it was needed. Anne was a devoted Christian who was a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church in Jackson. At Broadmoor, she was a participant with the Adult Singles and shared generously of her time by serving in the choir. At home Anne enjoyed gardening and also decorating her home. She is survived by her son John Tash of Atlanta, Georgia and her daughter Holly Douglas of Nashville, TN. A funeral service for Anne will be held at Sebrell Funeral Home, located at 425 Northpark Dr. in Ridgeland, MS, Saturday June 23rd at 11 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Visitation will also be held on Friday afternoon June 22nd from 4pm to 6pm. Officiant will be Pastor Tommy Jarrett of Broadmoor Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the family cemetery at Union Baptist Church in Hot Coffee, MS.
