Obituary for Ada Mooney Cummins
Ada Mooney Cummins, 97, died Friday, May 26, 2017 at Hospice Ministries. A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Magnolia Cemetery in Meridian. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, May 29, 2017 at Sebrell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cummins was born on October 26, 1919, the daughter of the late John Earl Mooney and Lyda Fuller Mooney and was reared in York, AL. She lived in Washington, D.C. for 21 years and had a successful career as a telephone sales representative with Sears and Roebuck.
Along with her husband, Ralph, she moved to Princeton, KY, and owned and operated a 24 hour family restaurant for 14 years.
After the death of her husband, Mrs. Cummins moved to Ridgeland to be close to family.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Cummins; son, Gerald Smith; brother, John Earl Mooney, Jr., and sister, Helen Tarvers.
Survivors include: a sister, Clarice Mooney of Ridgeland; grandchild, Keith Andrew Smith of Yuma, AZ; niece, Diana Rainey and Husband Larry of Meridian; great nieces, Kim Barrett and husband Steve and children, Katie, Nathan, Hailey; Lori Beard and her husband Billy and children, Cade and Cole.
